Re: unlawful entry/attempt of theft

Run, do not walk, to speak with an attorney. The penalty depends on the amount of the girl's items. Over $300.00 carries a jail term of up to 15 years. Under $300.00 carries a jail term up to 18 months. In either case, Theft in Maryland is a crime of moral terpitude and can prevent you from getting a license to practice law. If you are in the Baltimore County or Harford County area, you may call me for a free consultation. If you are not in this area you should contact an attorney near you immediately. If you have already been charged do not discuss the case with anyone other than an attorney. There are time limits for motions and discovery which is why you should see an attorney now.
