child support guidelines

Is a judge required to use the guidelines/ calculator when assigning the amount of support? Can a judge assign greater amount than is in calculator?

The judge applies the provisions based upon the evidence (e.g., financial amounts) provided at trial. Discretion can be applied with the acceptance of evidence. If you believe there was clear error with the judge's opinion then this should be corrected otherwise you will need to show a material change in circumstance for modification of the judge's order.
