Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

legal rights of wife

I have been married to my husband for 7 months, and we were together for 5 years prior. During a brief separation, my husband (we weren't yet married then) got another woman pregnant. She refuses to have any contact with me, and it has been the child is now 3 years old. It is stressful and confusing to our family, especially our 5 year old son. Anything we can do legally or any suggestions?

You cannot force the mother to have contact with you. Assuming that the child lives with the mother, your husband should file for visitation if he has not already done so. That would allow you to see the child on a regular basis when the child is with your husband for visitation.
