Legal Question in Family Law in Maryland

I moved half way across the country to live with a man. quit my job, sold my house. we were going to get married. now it is 10 years later - we both signed a prenup, were supposed to get married in bermuda - had everything arranged including marriage certificate.

one month before he told me he can not keep that date for marriage. I decided then to move away, again. he is very very wealthy and does not think he owes me anything.

please let me know if I can sue him - I would love to!

What would you sue him for? It was YOUR decision to stay in the relationship that long. Sorry it didn't end well, but that doesn't entitle you to any money from him.

Best of luck.*******The above is for informational purposes and does not create an attorney-client privilege.*******

Breach of promise to marry was once a cause of action in Maryland, but it has been abolished by statute. Unless you have some other grounds to sue him, you can't do so for simply backing out of your plans to get married.
