Legal Question in Criminal Law in Massachusetts

window tints

I know that in the state of MA, you must allow more than 35% of light in your rear window. I got cited for illegal tints 29vlt%, which is a lie because there's cars with factory tints which are darker than mine including some cop cars. How do i defend myself in this situation in a hearing?

Its the state that has to prove the charge against you, not you that has to prove yourself innocent. I would appeal it to the clerk magistrate and suggest just as you have stated that police cruisers have darker windows than yours, or show the factory sticker from your vehicle if you have it. If yo lose at that level, you can appeal it to a judge in court. Here you may have a better chance, especially if you hire an attorney.
