Hi. I was wondering if a person claiming to be the father of my child can get a court to grant him a paternity test, done on my child, after he got the child taken away from me because of him being arrested in my home? Also, if he did turn out to be the father, would he get visitation rights to my child after being arrested for drugs and getting the child taken in the first place? We were never married and he is not on the birth certificate, by the way.

He can seek a paternity test, but he has to present a justification for it. Moreover, if he is the biological father he will have to pay child support. If he gets the paternity test and is the biological father, then you can request superivised visitation given his drug and violent history.
