Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Delayed Paychecks - again

What is the law in MA regarding paychecks being delayed due to lack of funds? We have been told that the next paycheck will be delayed (possibly up to 1 month). My payroll dept says that as long as we are notified before the pay period begins that we will not be receiving the next paycheck on time, it is legal. I don't believe they have correct information.

This is not the first time I've asked questions regarding delayed paychecks. I posted a question in the past, concerning continuously delayed paychecks, and received an answer that this is illegal, that MA law states paychecks must be delivered within 5 days of the last date of the past pay period.

Are there conditions under which delayed paycheck distribution is legal or acceptable?
