Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Resignation period

During my two week resignation period I was told that my services were no longer needed and that I would not be paid for the final week of my two week period. Does this constitute being teminated?

I have an educational agreement that states if I am terminated the debt is relinquished.

Re: Resignation period

As an at will employee, you can be fired at any time for any reason or no reason at all. Unless you actually worked during that final week, you're not entitled to any pay, absent a company policy to the contrary.

With regard to the education reimbursement policy, I would need to know more about the policy. In other words, is it merely a policy, or is it an established employee benefit plan that might be subject to a different set of rules and regulations.
