Legal Question in Employment Law in Massachusetts

Unpaid Minor

Hi, I am a 16 year old soccer referee in the state of MA. Every few months or so I am required to go to a ''mandatory meeting'' that usually last atleast an hour and a half. We sit their as he tells us what we have to do, gives us new maps of where feilds are. I asked him if we were to be paid for this, and he blew me off. I keep sending letters to his office and get no response. Should I be getting paid and if so is there something I can do.

Re: Unpaid Minor

I think you should be paid to it. To be sure you should contact the Wage and Hour/Fair Labor Practices Division of the Attorney General's Office in Boston. They'll give you the best answer - and could offer you assistance.
