Legal Question in Personal Injury in Massachusetts

Possible Libel

A year ago a friend of mine developed a close online relationship with her boss. The relationship escalated, and when she tried to dissuade him from pursuing things with her any further, he persisted on making several more advancements. Additionally, he had used his status as her boss for leverage to get her interested in him (hints at a potential promotion). The time for pressing sexual harassment claims has now expired. However, could she (or I) be held at risk of possible libel charges if we wrote a letter stating the behavior he exhibited with her to his supervisor? Even if it is an objective account of his interactions with her, supported by various e-mail exchanges between them, could we be at risk of having legal action being taken against us? Thank you.

Re: Possible Libel

That is tough news to bear. That being said, she has every right to write the letter to her bosses supervisor if he is still harrassing her. With regards to libel charge, as long as she is telling the truth then there is no libel charge.
