Legal Question in Real Estate Law in Massachusetts

If I own the home but have to pay rent for the land, can the landlord of the property put restrictions on any type of contract labor that needs to be done inside or on the home? The landlord requires that all improvements are done by himself. Is this legal?

If there is nothing in writing, then it is my belief that you can use any person to make the improvements.
