embezzlement

my fiance was charged with embezzlement of $304 as his first ever misdemeanor. he is affraid that his dreams of being a officer of the law is now impossible. can this be wiped off his record?

If he's charged, but has not pled, it may be possible to keep this off his record for everyone except the police..

Otherwise, once convicted it stays on his record for 5 years until he can get it expunged if that's his only crime.

However, when applying for a position as a law enforcement officer, the police have access to all his records and nothing can be done to hide this information,

Assuming he was fired from his job as a thief, a reference check with that employer may also disqualify him from future jobs.
