Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in Michigan

Unpaid Vehicle

I sold a vehicle to a lady on 4-5 or 4-6, with a down payment of 200.00. She signed an agreement to pay 200.00 the 1st of each month unitl paid in full. Also, stated if a day late the vehicle is to be returned w/title. She hasn't made a pyament or even contacted me. I called her on 5-10 asking what is going on she stated I'll have a payment shortly. While tomorrow will be two months behind. I pickup the vehicle yesterday, she willing handled over the keys and cleaned out the vehicle. Last night, the cops came and gave her the vehicle back. What can I do? I'm afaird this is going to be dragged out. If I take her to court, can they garnish her wages to make sure I get paid? Can I get loss wages for taking time off of work to go to small claims court? What happens if she sells the vehicle? Please help. How can I get the vehilce back or paid?

Re: Unpaid Vehicle

I hope you have the deal in writing. Otherwise, you'll never prove it. Also, you'll be limited only to the contract price minus the value of the car upon return. In other words, you may get no damages now that the car has been returned. Bill Stern
