Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Divorce & Medical Insurance Coverage

I've been providing my husband's medical insurance through my work. Now that we've filed for divorce, is it okay to drop his portion of the medical coverage before the divorce is finalized?

Re: Divorce & Medical Insurance Coverage

Not necessarily, especially if it is not costing you anything extra. You need to discuss this with your divorce lawyer before taking any action, as you could require your husband to pay for the medical insurance premiums until your divorce is finalized, at which time he is no longer eligible to remain on your policy.
