Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

Increase of Monthly Obligation on Arrears

I have paid my child support consistently for what seems like forever. My son will be 20 soon and lived with me for 2 years before he turned 18.

During this time, support was still being paid! An Order to Withhold, more than doubling the current amount, has been issued to my employer for the arrears. I was informed that an outside agency was involved and collected some of the funds which the State is unaware of and I did not get credit for. I have 2 minor sons and a wife that I am the sole supporter of. How can I get credit for the money I have already paid and, have the monthly amount reduced to a point that my family is not impoverished?

Re: Increase of Monthly Obligation on Arrears

Your lawyer should obtain an accounting of your child support account and also should petition the court.
