Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

mental state (ex- spouse)

My ex- girlfriend and I have been separated for about 4 mos. and she has physical custody of our child. We have a support hearing in December, but I want to go for custody of our 3 yr. old daughter. It is my understanding that I have to file a motion for custody separate from the support hearing. My ex- girlfriend suffers from anxiety, depression, and PTSD (Post Tramatic Stress Disorder). How do I go about obtaining her medical records, and how might the court decide? There is a possibilty that she may have signed a form consenting me to talk to her counselor/ physician. Am I able to obtain these records by her having signed this form?

You are dealing with an issue that is very complicated. Rather than save money and blow one of the most important things in your life, spend a little and hire a good lawyer who will be able to address these issues. Make sure you get someone experienced with the court involved and with the issues. William S. Stern 248-353-9400
