Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

removing child from state

I've been divorced 7 years - 2 girls (13 and 9), am currently in court with x-wife. She got remarried and is trying to move the children out of state. We have joint legal/joint physical of the children. I was notified this afternoon by the school system that she checked the children out of school early due to the fact that they were ''Leaving the state''. Do I have any legal standing? She has not notified me of any trips or out of town plans. According to the school system she is leaving today and returning Sunday - so kids pulled from school for 2 days plus weekend.

Re: removing child from state

If your ex has taken the kids away for a long weekend out of state, she's probably OK in doing that.

If she moves the children out of state without your consent or the judge's approval, that's not OK.

You should meet with an experienced, aggressive family law attorney right away.
