Legal Question in Family Law in Michigan

SSI and child support

I am pregnant with twins and my babies father is on SSI for a disability he has had since he was a child. He has told me that because he is on SSI he has no financial responsibility for the children. Is this true? A man can just walk away from his responsibilites because he is disabled?

Re: SSI and child support

You should meet with an experienced family law attorney to help you collect child support. The twins may be able to collect Social Security based on the father's disability.
