Answer to Complaint

Do I have to provide a defense when I answer a complaint or may I simply deny the allegation and defend myself in court.

In Michigan, if certain defenses are not raised in the answer they are waived. If you are being sued, you should talk to an attorney before filing an answer, particularly if the claim is for a substantial amount of money.
