Legal Question in Personal Injury in Michigan

My Name is Paris and I was brutally assaulted on the First of June earlier this year. The assault left me with major head damage, but Ive recovered fairly well. However.. the assault also left me with the inability to smell.. in short my sense of smell no longer exsists.

My question to you is..

Am I able to press some sort of charges against the Man that has does this, and ultimately receive some sort of deserved compensation for my loss?

Paris,

Many times in cases such as this an attorney would counsel you to wait until after the criminal trial, if there is one, to file suit for damages.

Based on the facts you have provided you surely have a claim for damages due to the assault. I am quite sure on top of the loss of smell you also suffered severe emotional stress as a result of the beating. Big issue in these type of cases is whether or not the defendant is collectible if you get a judgment. Best of luck and sorry for your misfortune.
