Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in Minnesota

My ex-fiance had paid for repairs and tires for my vehicle when we were still engaged. I never asked him too he just said when can I take your vehicle in to get new tires and repairs done to it. Now after we are no longer engaged - it's been 4 months, I received the receipts in the mail for the service done and he wants me to pay him back or else he is going to take it to a higher level. Am I obligated to pay him back for this?

You should be in pretty good shape if he wants to take you to small claims court. Basically, he is going to have to prove that it was a loan and not a gift. Since there is no written agreement, you never said you would pay him back, and he did not demand money until after you broke up a judge is probably going to side with you. Good Luck.
