Legal Question in Family Law in Mississippi

adoption laws

My children were placed for adoption by the welfare in 2000. My oldest is now 13. In Mississippi were they are at you can choose to live with which ever parent you want at 13. Is it the same with adoptees? When can I have contact with my children again?

Re: adoption laws

The election to live with the parent of choice does not apply in adoption cases. Ordinarily, an adoption terminates parental rights. Consult with a local attorney to explore whether any other avenues may be open to you.
