If the lender/creditor sells the repo's auto, and there is a deficiency, they might be able to obtain a judgment from the borrower for the deficiency. There is nothing about the repossession itself that prevents the lender, (now judgment creditor), from seeking to garnish the borrower, n(ow judgment debtor)'s wages and salary. There are some things that a borrower can do to lessen the likelihood, if not prevent the judgmetn or garnishment. If you are intersted in finding out what you might be able to do in your situation, go see an attorney in your area, who can ask you about the specifics of your situation. Many offer a free or low cost intitial consultation.
