Legal Question in Family Law in Missouri

Child Support

I would like to know if a lawyer could take a case on back child support without charging me the fee& charge it to my ex. He is almost 10,000 behind in back payments and has never had any insurance on the children and was required to do so. I live in Texas and he now lives in Missouri. The child support enforcement in Missouri has the case but things just go so slow and when they do something its just a slap on the wrist for him I want Justice.

Re: Child Support

The client is responsible for the fees and costs. The lawyer will attempt to obtain an Order requiring the husband to repay the wife, but the husband does not owe the lawyer, the wife-client does.

Re: Child Support

While the client has the responsibility to pay the fees, the attorney can "request" fees be paid by child support obligor. If the judge awards fees, these can be refunded to the client when received or executed upon by the attorney.
