Legal Question in Legal Ethics in Missouri

File for Judgement and offer additional credit

Capital One Bank has hired lawyers to sue for a delinquent Visa card account. On May 21,2002 a summons was served to appear in court on June 20, 2002.

On the same day summons was served, one or more offers of a Pre approved Visa Credit card from Capital one were received.

Capital One has already issued a new Visa credit card with a $200 limit to the same.

Question:

Is it a conflict of interest for Capital One to sue someone for past owed money and at the same time make offers for an additional new credit line???

Re: File for Judgement and offer additional credit

It is not smart of them to offer, and it would be less smart for you to accept, but it is not illegal nor a conflict of interest.

They are in the business of selling money. The new offer is starting all over again. Don't fall for it this time because of the last time.
