Power of Attorney

How can I get a power of attorney for my brother-in-law that passed away in a truck/train accident. We need this for insurance purposes

Re: Power of Attorney

Too late now to get a PoA. That must be signed when the person is alive.

Re: Power of Attorney

A power of attorney won't help you. A person must be living to grant the power, and the power dies with the person. If you need to pursue insurance, then you will need letters of administration (assuming no will) or letters testamentary (if there is a will.) There are a few other alternatives, but they are fact specific. Feel free to call me at the office if you want to discuss this further.
