Legal Question in Technology Law in Nevada

A competitor uses my company name in his search engine site submissions

I own a small Canadian company that sells a product. Competitors in the United States are using my company name in their search engine submissions, for eg. If you type in my company name, their listings come up, showing my company name in their search keywords. I have made them aware of this and I have noticed they now rate even higher when I search my company name. Is this accceptable business practise?

If the company name is a common word, this is not a problem; otherwise, at least assuming you are competitors in the US market, their conduct is a form of unfair competition and trademark infringement.
