Legal Question in DUI Law in New Hampshire

DUI & Possession

I was recently arrested and charged for DUI and possession of drugs. It is my first offense for both charges. One lawyer I spoke with told me I would be going to court twice, once at the scheduled hearing and again at the NH DMV- and that both had their own consequences. The latter imposes a standard 6 mo. loss of license, the former at least 9 mo.s, fines up to $1,000, and ''drunk driving school''. First off,if this is all true, can I hope for anything less? Secondly should I even try to fight this, considering it was a State Trooper that arrested me, versus going for the negotiated disposition?

Some of what you say is true but there are many issues that need to be looked at; you have 30 days to appeal the DMV loss of license; that needs to be done immediately and your lawyer may be able to negotiate something; if you wait, your options are limited
