Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New Hampshire

I just recently moved into an apartment earlier this month. A person came over to replace my bathroom floor yesterday, paid for by my landlord. He cut the lenolium and noticed A LOT of mold growing under my bathroom floor. He said he was unable to replace my bathroom floor and i need to call my landlord ASAP to have him GUT the bathroom and kitchen because its spreading into the kitchen and on some walls. My landlord said he would come by in a week or two. Should he be coming by sooner than that? My boyfriend has a 1 1/2 yr old daughter who the landlord knows will be coming over every other weekend, which now she will not be able to due to the mold issue. So my question(s) i guess are: 1. Should he be coming faster than a week or two (or when he decides to show up)? 2. Do we lose our security deposit if we decide to find another place? 3. Can he just fix it himself without calling proper people to make sure ALL of the mold is out?!?!

Take pictures of the problem. Send a letter to your landlord stating that this is a health and safety issue and must be addressed promptly. If you don't get a quick response, notify the muncipal code enforcement officer. I suggest that you may need to start looking for a new place to live as the extent of work your predict is likely to render the apartment not habitable during the work. If the landlord does not refund your security deposit under these circumstances, you should be able to file a claim against him in District Court. If you have tenant's insurance I suggest that you notify the company.
