Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Hampshire

Does a will always need to be read publicly? I will be the executor to my Dad's will and he wants to leave extra money to my kids but doesn't want my 5 siblings to know.

In more than 30 years of practice I've never had a "publc reading of the will." However, when the will is filed with the court, the executor is required to provide a copy of the will and all filings to interested parties. This would include ALL siblings and potentially addtional people depending upon the drafting of the will and the applicable statutes.

I suggest you would benefit from meeting with an attorney to review the entire matter to ensure that you comply with legal requirements.
