Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New Jersey

Garnishment of CD in different state

I used to live in Pennsylvania and a creditor recently obtained a judgment for $5,700 and change against me. My bank account is in New Jersey which they know about but I don't have much money in it so they can garnishee that for all I care.

However, of concern to me is the fact that my mother put my name jointly on her $10,000 CD with her and I'm sunk if they garnishee that. I would rather not tell my mother of the mess I am in if I can help it, but I need to know about garnishment in NJ of a out of state judgment. I know they can, but does the bank have to give them my mother's CD that I am on being as she lives at a different address than me? Or would they just do a general search of all my accounts at the bank where I bank?

HELP!!!!!!!!!!
