Legal Question in DUI Law in New Jersey

NJ DUI Reciprocity and any statue of limitations

I'am and always have been a NJ resident. In 1999 I plead guilty to DUI in NH and lost my driving priviledges there for 6 months.

I followed all the steps, attended the education program, didn't drive in NH, and notified my insurance company officially. My driving priviledges have since been reinstated in NH.

I never lost my driving priviledge in NJ.

Is this the type of thing that can catch up with me in NJ or is there a period of time that expires?

If the NH DUI statute is simlar to NJ's, then the prior conviction can be used against you to enhance your sentencing in NJ if you were convicted of a DUI here. The blood alcohol concentration level of the NH statute in 1999 would be a critical component in any defense to a sentence enhancement in NJ.

It is all a matter of whether New Hampshire is a member of the interstate compact requiring it to send information to New Jersey. If it is not it won't.
