Re: Legal Seperation

hi -

in new jersey, you can file for divorce after being separated for 18 months. (but that's only one of the grounds for divorce.there are others, like, extreme cruelty, adultery, etc.)

a "legal separation" doesn't go through the court per se - although child support and custody/visitation matters do. if you have any further questions, feel free to call me at 609 263-0089. good luck !!
