The statute of limitations for a race harassment cause of action in NJ is limited to 2 years. A possible exception to this rule is something called "the continuing tort doctrine" which essentially states that if you have been continuously harassed during the entire period of time by the same wrongdoer, then under certain circumstances a court will find that acts of harassment outside of the 2 year statute of limitations would be actionable in a lawsuit. Of course, this is only legal information and as such, does not constitute legal advice. If you wish to learn more about these legal issues, then you can google them online or, even better, make a consultation with a NJ employment law attorney.
