Severance or Separation Pay
If you have recieved notice from your company that you are being separated from the payroll (laid-off), and your company funds the severance pay from their pension fund, do the same rules that apply to pensions, apply to the severance pay? i.e. will you incur any penalties if you cash that check ? 10%?? Please advise.
