Legal Question in Medical Malpractice in New Jersey

my husband passed very suddenly. he had rcc and has been treated for the past two years. his passing was very sudden, the cancer had spread to his liver and only remaining kidney. the doctor never once gave us the impression that he was going to die from his cancer. he went through radiaition therapy and was on chemo drugs. i dont know what questions i should ask the doctor about his death? i am concerned that something wasnt done to prevent his death.
