Legal Question in Civil Rights Law in New Mexico

Recording a face to face Conversation

I use a recorder for work to take mtg. min. and recently I've been having trouble with my son's Principal at school he's in 2nd grade. So after asking for help with a bullying problem my son has with another kid, the Principal was very snooty with me, even mean and told me she couldn't talk and basically doesn't have time to listen to what I had to say. This is not the first time, she talks down to me all the time, so I decided to record her one morning. I went to the redirector, secretary and finally the boys (bullies) teacher and she called the boys to the door and asked what was going on...I didn't expect for her to do that, but it happend while recording...The Principal later called me and told me off for yelling at the boys, which I never did, I have it all on recording..what should I do, is it against the law to record without the teachers concent?

Re: Recording a face to face Conversation

It is not against the law for you to record a conversation such as you describe under the circumstances which you state. Your consent is all that is required.
