Legal Question in Family Law in New Mexico

If i harbor a 15 year old runaway can i get in trouble with the police, can the parent press charges on me? This child is verbally abused at home so severely, its either she comes with me or threatens to kill herself.

In NM there is nothing law enforcement can do about a 14 year-old. She may run away and stay wherever she wants to. Unless you did something illegal causing her to stay with you, you are in no trouble for taking in a troubled teenager. There should be more like you.
