Legal Question in Wills and Trusts in New Mexico

Ownership regristeration of a Limited Partnership

I own an interest in a Limited Partnership in New Mexico. It is not actively traded or listed on any exchange, but has been registered with NM Sec. of State. Since New Mexico has adopted the Uniform Probated Code for TOD Registration, can I change my ownership to a TOD ownership registration, in the form as specified in NM Statutes Chapter 45, Article 6, Part 3, Non-Probate Transfers, TOD Registeration?

Thank You

Re: Ownership regristeration of a Limited Partnership

In New Mexico you are free to dispose of your interest in an LLC the same way you would any other tangible asset. You may assign your interest presently, or assign your interest when you die by placing a TOD assignment with the LLC. You may also dispose of your interest by a will.
