Legal Question in Administrative Law in New York

Open Container Summons

I recieved an open container summons and was wondering if I should just pay the $25 fine or if I should appear in court. Also, would this appear on my permanent record and what affects would that have on me in the future. I am also underage so would that change anything?

Re: Open Container Summons

The violation you described is just that ,a violation. It will not affect your criminal record, it is the equivalent of a traffic violation ticket. Therefore I would recommend that if you are guilty of the offense, that you make payment and then forget about the incident.
