Legal Question in Bankruptcy in New York

Bankruptcy

I filed bankruptcy 2002 it included a judgement for medical services. However it remains on file at town hall. How do i get it removed? I did contant the law firm that placed it and they do admit it was released on bankruptcy. However they would not help me anymore.

The debt owed on the judgment was discharged in your Chapter 7 bankruptcy. However, the judgment itself is a public record, which you can't "unfile" or remove totally. You can rest assured, however, that neither the creditor nor its attorneys can execute on it, as they've acknowledged to you. The judgment should not have any effect on you going forward, although it can be reported on your credit report for a period of time.
