Re: us bankruptcy law outside US

US bankruptcy law applies in the US. Israeli bankruptcy law applies in Israel. Japanese bankruptcy law applies in Japan. Nepalese bankruptcy law applies in Nepal. Brazilian bankruptcy law applies in Brazil. And so forth.

There is a principle called "comity" which enables a court to apply the judgments reached by a foreign court to a matter at hand; however, this principle is voluntary on the part of each country. No Israeli court is obligated to apply US law or US judgments to an Israeli matter unless there is a treaty in place.

Does that help?
