Legal Question in Credit and Debt Law in New York
I loaned a friend $4000.00. He sent an IOU via text message from his phone to mine clearly stating that he would pay all the money back. Several more discussions were had via text message and email where he admitted to owing my the money and his plans to pay it back. An account was set up for him to transfer money into from his bank account. He sent $500.00 and then stopped. Is this enough proof to go to small claims court. I have printed all the text messages and emails as well as bank statements.
