Legal Question in Criminal Law in New York

Petit Larceny Charge

My 16 yr. old was charged with petit

larceny for allegedly stealing a cell

phone. She is willing to take a lie

detector test to prove it. The Sheriff

stated that I have to take her for

fingerprints & photos. What should I

do?

Re: Petit Larceny Charge

This is serious. Although she is young enough to get a Youthful Offender status ultimately. The thing to do is to line up a very good and well respected Criminal Defense Lawyer in Buffalo or Rochester. If you don't know one you may call me and I can give you the names of a couple of good ones. I know a guy in Rochester who is not only one of the best but also takes it easy on kids in the fee department. Especially when they are innocent.

Whatever you do, don't have her printed and photographed until she has a good lawyer.

Good luck.
