Legal Question in Entertainment Law in New York

Small Claims Court

I will be going to small claims court in New York State because I am being sued for 250.00 by a former softball players family for a refund of entry fee money. I am a Volunteer coach for a 14U girls fastpitch team , I formed this team myself. The girl was asked not to be on the team because of disiplinary reasons. All the money paid out by parents for fees and games was done before this girl was asked not to play. After all items she has used such as uniforms and gym use the total comes to 90.00 owed , (For games she won't be playing in). My question is why should I pay her family anything considering her actions towards me on the bench ? Being a volunteer I put over 600.00 into this team myself , I handed out fundrasers for everyone that would offset my costs , 100.00 per player , her family did not return any of it.

Thanks for your help.

determine The standard, though, is

"substantial justice"

Do not forget to have ample corroboration

with witnesses and documents of the

reasons for the exclusion from the team

Your word alone will not be enough proof
