Legal Question in Family Law in New York

child support concern

I am a person who has child support taken out of my paychecks. I recently found out however, that the money that is being taken out of my check is not getting to my exwife. Now i have to go back to court and found out that I owe about 1,000.00 in back support. I am not sure what to do about this situation. I noticed that the paper work was sent to not only me but my job as well. Am I still responsible for that money or is it my job? I have been told both and am not sure due to not wanting to lose my job.
