Does she have a right to things

I just have a question for a friend.....he has lived with a woman for 15 years and 3 years ago he bought a mobil home in wich he paid cash for and it is in his name only.....they recently seperated and he wants her stuff out of his house,but she says legally she has a right to half of everything he owns.....from a legal standpoint what can he do to get her stuff out of his house and is she right about having legal rights to half of everything he owns

To my knowledge, New York does not recognize a "common law" marriage, that is, a co-habitual relationship lasting five years or more. Therefore, I don't believe she has any legal right to half of everything. He should encourage her to take her things and go rather than throw out her possessions. If she continues to threaten or menace him, he should retain an attorney or seek assistance from the local police department.
