Interview

Approximatly how long does it take to get a response from USCIS after filing all your papers for adjustment of status of visa by marriage...specificaly how long do you have to wait till you have to go to the interview...and after the interview, how long does it take for them to actually aporve everything?

It depends on where your application was filed, and where your interview will be. Once your fingerprints have been cleared or 180 days has passed since your application has been pending, then the application is sent to the local office for scheduling.

Each interview is different. Sometimes the application will be approved the day of the interview, sometimes a week later, or sometimes the officer will recommend that you be sent to another interview. You may want to consider speaking with an attorney prior to the interview.

Typically in takes approximately one to two years to complete an adjustment, depends on where you reside. It is always advisable to consult an experienced attorney prior to attending an interview. Currently, certain cases are delayed due to security name check.
