Legal Question in Employment Law in New York

employment

if an employer agrees to hire me for a

summer position (I'm a teacher) then

never calls back with details or a start

date can i take legal action. (this

agreement was verbal and caused me

to stop looking for a job since I thought

I would be employed?

You would have to prove there was a contract entered, and then you would have to show damages. It would be a very hard case to win.
