Legal Question in Landlord & Tenant Law in New York

How to get estimates for court?

Well first let me start off by telling you how helpful your site is youve done a great job.

I recently have taken my landlord to court for possession of my property I was away a week away from my apartment and he went in to do repairs and took all my things within that week. I also was with holding rent for about two months which was placed in a savings account because of the need for repairs in the apartment, well when I returned I immediate called the cops an they filed a report within that week I moved in with my parents and filed a lawsuit in small claims court , I received a letter that he was counter suing me for the rent owed, went to court and he never showed up now the judge tells me I need two sets of estimates of all the things in my apartment,

Can you please explain to me how can I acquire estimates on all the things in my apartment for example TV, bed, clothing and personal items,

Sounds like you have a better case than just small claims. Have you spoken to anyone about "wrongful eviction"? A landlord can NOT do what you say yours did, unless he has a court order of which you were notified. Even if you didn't have a lease and even if you had not paid your rent for 6 mos!!
